The Sponsor shall provide and will have set-up prior to the arrival of the company:

STAGE:

A proscenium stage with a minimum opening of 30' [9,1M] and depth of 25' [7,6M] upstage of the arch is best for this production. There should be 3 sets of black velour legs and borders, and a full stage black velour drape, hung as shown on Ground Plan. The floor shall be clean and free of any obstructions (such as nails, staples, large cracks, holes, etc.) . The floor shall be mopped clean one half hour prior to the performance (s). All blowing air, whether heat or air conditioning, shall be shut down at the time the performance begins and shall remain off for the duration of the performance (with the exception of the intermission when the HVAC may be restored).

STAGING:

Ground Plan

One 4'x8 [1M X 2M] platform, eight inches (20cm.) tall. A one inch [25cm] batten (chair rail) must be attached to the upstage 8' edge.

One 8x8 [2,5M x 2,5M] drum platform, 12 inches [30cm.] tall. This platform must be covered with a dark colored carpet to deaden drum noises.

One quick change dressing booth at downstage right entrance. The booth should be equipped with a clean full length mirror, a small covered table, 4 amber gelled clip lights, and a clothes rack at least 6' [2M] tall. The floor of the booth shall be covered with a freshly vacuumed carpet at least 4'x5' [1,25M x 1,5M] . See Ground Plan.

MUSICAL:

Ground Plan

One grand, or baby grand, piano (with piano bench) tuned to A440 pitch at Noon on the day of the performance. If the engagement is for more than two days the piano shall be tuned daily.

One CK-800RB or CK-400RB bass amplifier with one Hartke 4"x10" speaker cabinet. (An alternate choice, one SWR-SM400 bass amplifier.)

One five piece Sonor Force 3000 or Highlight or Designer Series drum set. Sabian Cymbals type AAX Stage or HH should be provided. Specifications:

SOUND:

NOTE: Sound is very important for this production. It is essential that a Professional Sound Engineer be available to set up and run this show.

Ground Plan

Sound board must be located in the house, in a position that will allow operator full ability to monitor house sound levels.

P.A. System should be capable of clean, undistorted 1IOdB at all seats in the house. No hum or buzz is acceptable as the show has a wide dynamic range. A center cluster is greatly appreciated.

One sound console with at least16 inputs, 4 band equalization, high pass filter, and two fold back channels (one for Singer, and one for Band) post equalization.

Effects: 4 Channels Limiter/ Compressor, DBxlGOx, DBxSOO or equivalent.

2 Reverb Units, Rev 7 or better. One for Monitor mix and one for House Mix.

4-1/3 Octave Graphic Equalizers, one for each monitor mix and 2 for the house mixes.

At least Two Monitor Mixes. 1/3 Octave Graphic Equalizer on each mix. Seven Bi-amped Wedges required (Meyer UMI or equivalent quality) . Sends are to be post graphic-Equalization. Reverb will be used for Singer and possibly Reeds.

Mix #1- Ms. Reaves - 2 Wedges downstage, one in quick change booth. On a very wide stage Side Fills will be required.

Mix #2- Band - 4 Wedges for band.

One cassette player/recorder.

One wireless handheld microphone, Shure L2/Beta58 with L4 Diversity Receiver, or one of comparable quality with an SM58 capsule, for Ms. Reaves.

One Shure SM58 microphone on 50' [15M] of free cable. This microphone must be on a straight stand with a round base, in the quick change booth.

Two Shure SM58 microphones on boom stands. One for drummer vocal announcements and one for piano vocal announcements.

Two cardioid condenser microphones, such as an Audio-Technica C87 or equivalent, on boom stands for Trumpeter, and for Reed player (alto Sax to Flute).

One hypercardioid kick drum microphone, such as a Beyer TG-XSO or equivalent.

One Direct box and cables to interface bass guitar amp (see Musical section for requirements) with sound system.

Two cardioid condenser microphones on boom stands, or C-deucer ribbon microphones on piano high and low end.

One intercom system to connect Stage Manager with Light Control, Sound Control, Follow spots, and Stage Right quick change booth.

ELECTRICS:

Two Follow Spots of sufficient power to be clearly seen onstage with full stage lighting. These units must have color boomerangs fitted with Roscolux #33 (No Color Pink) , Roscolux #84 (Zephyr Blue) , and Roscolux #51 (Surprise Pink) .

One lighting control board such as a 2 Scene Strand Mantrix, or a 24 submaster board, such as an Impression.

Four music stand lights and a gooseneck piano light (all gelled with a light blue such as Roscolux #65, Daylight Blue), independent of dimming system.

Four shaded 100w. clip lights eelled amber, such as Roscolux #02, Bastard Amber), in Quick Change, independent of dimming system. See floor plan for placement.

Cross-over lighting: upstage of rear masking, stage right and left, independent of dimming system.

PROPS:

Ground Plan

One 24" [60cm] black stool for onstage use.

One 36" [90cml cushioned stool for bass player.

Two armless black chairs for trumpet and reed players.

One smalltable, 18" [45cmI across and 24" [60cm] tall, onstage by piano.

One table 2' [60cm] by 4' [1,2M], covered with white tablecioth, in Change Booth.

Four heavy duty music stands with lights.

Two 6'-7' [1,75M-2M] Palms or Ficus Trees.

Six 3'-4' [1M-1,5M] Palms. I ·Six 1' [30cmj hanging basket ferns.

Two cans of PEPSI COLA (no substitutrons please) for onstage consumption.

WARDROBE:

Professional Fabric Steamer, to be used on sequined gowns.

Steam iron and ironing board.

Two 6' I2M] tall Costume racks. One in wardrobe work room (later to be moved to quick change booth), and one in star dressing room; each with 15 heavy duty wooden or plastic hangers.

Two standard costume racks in band dressing rooms with 10 heavy duty hangers each.

DRESSING ROOMS:

One Star dressing room adjacent to stage, equipped as follows:

Warm temperature (70"-75"F [20"-23"CD with no moving air.
Well lit make-up table and mirrors.
Wall to wall carpet, or large area rug, vacuumed at 1:00pm on day of show.
Large sofa or day bed.
Full private rest room with hot and cold running water and toilet. Fully cleaned at 1:00pm on day of performance.
6' [2M] tall clothes rack with 15 heavy duty wooden or plastic hangers.
5 Cloth face and bath toweIs.
Refrigerator or cooler.

One wardrobe work room, adjacent to star dressing room .

Two dressing rooms for the five band members, equipped as follows:

Well lit mirrors.
Comfortable temperature.
Clothes racks with hangers.
5 Cloth face cloths and bath towels, in each room.

STAFFING:

Load in and Set up Crew:

Three Electricians to complete final focus.
Two Carpenters to bring in costume trunks, complete setting stage, and quick change booth construction.
Two Sound Engineers to complete sound set up.
One Wardrobe person to steam and press costumes, comb out wigs, assist Ms. Reaves in quick changes, and repack costumes.

Running Crew:

One Electrician to run light board and House Lights.
One Sound Engineer to run sound board.
Two Followspot Operators.
One Wardrobe person (same person from load in crew).

Strike Crew:

One Wardrobe person to pack trunks.
Two carpenters to remove trunks from dressing rooms.

PROPOSED WORK SCHEDULE:

Prior to company arrival:

Pre-hang & cable lamps, assign channels, rough focus washes and specials.
Pre-hang legs, borders and black drape.
Rough set platforms, piano and quick change booth.
Assemble drum kit and rough set on drum riser.
Install sound system. Rough out mics, monitors and bass amplifier.

Noon - Tune Piano.

1:00 pm - Clean Dressing Rooms.

2:00 pm

All Load in, and Set up Crew called.
Production Stage Manager arrives with costumes. Load in costumes.
Wardrobe starts to hang up, steam, and press costumes.
Complete set up of platforms, piano, and quick change booth.
Complete focus of washes and specials.
Complete sound set up.

4:00 pm - Band Members arrive at theatre. Drummer completes drum kit placement.

4:15 pm - Sound check for band monitors commences.

4:30 pm - Ms. Reaves arrives at theatre.

5:00 pm - Sound check Ms. Reaves' monitors and then house sound levels.

5:30 pm - Company dinner served in theatre, near dressing rooms. Crew meal break.

6:30 pm - Department heads return. Stage cleaned and mopped.

7:30 pm

Show Crew call.
Sound engineer starts pre-show tape.
House opens.

8:05 pm - Performance starts.

10:30 pm

Performance ends.
Pack up wardrobe begins.

lO:45 pm-Band departs theatre to hotel.

1l:15 pm-Wardrobe loads out. Ms. Reaves departs theatre to hotel.


TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS - BOLD AND BRASSY BLUES

GROUND PLAN

ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SHOULD BE SET UP PRIOR TO THE ARRIVAL OF MS. REAVESAND THE COMPANY. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ALL PLATFORMS AND SUPPLIED INSTRUMENTS BE IN PLACE. (Piano, Keyboard, Drums, Etc.)

 

DRAPES:

BLACK VELOUR DRAPE MID-STAGE, WITH TWO PAIRS (MINIMUM) BLACK VELOUR LEGS, ADEQUATE BLACK BORDER MASKING.

GROUND PLAN

ONE 4' x 8' PLATFORM EIGHT INCHES TALL, WITH A ONE INCH BATTEN (CHAIR RAIL) FASTENED TO THE UPSTAGE 8' EDGE. ONE 8' x 8' PLATFORM - TWELVE INCHES TALL, COVERED WITH A CARPET TO DEADEN DRUM NOISES. ALSO A STEP FOR THIS PLATFORM IF REQUIRED BY THE DRUMMER.

ONE SCREENED QUICK-CHANGE DRESSING AREA ON THE STAGE IN THE DOWNSTAGE RIGHT ENTRANCE (PORTAL). THIS BOOTH SHOULD BE EQUIPPED WITH A LARGE TABLE, FULL LENGTH MIRROR, 2 (TWO) SHADED CLIP LIGHTS, WARDROBE RACK WITH 10 STRONG COAT HANGERS, AND A RUG TO COVER THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR.

ONE SCREENED QUICK-CHANGE DRESSING AREA ON THE STAGE IN THE DOWNSTAGE LEFT ENTRANCE (PORTAL). THIS AREA IS FOR THE BACK- UP SINGERS AND SHOULD BE EQUIPPED WITH A LARGE TABLE, 2 (TWO) SHADED CLIP LIGHTS, WARDROBE RACK WITH 10 COAT HANGERS AND A MIRROR.
